Justice isn’t blind, she just isn’t looking at women
This ongoing project, shot between medium format 120 film and digital, examines the tension between visibility and recognition experienced by women within the UK justice system, particularly in cases of gender-based violence. Combining feminist visual theory, fashion styling and performance-for-camera strategies, the work critiques institutional sight, how systems claim transparency while routinely misrecognising those who seek protection. Through architectural scale, motion blur and symbolic domestic materials, Justice Isn’t Blind, She Just Isn’t Looking at Women constructs a visual language that exposes the structural blind spots shaping women’s encounters with justice.
